This project is my first concerted effort at using digital methods. It is meant to be a process of exploration rather than an explanation. A key tenet of digital methods is that they provide insight into materials that traditional methods cannot reasonably provide. If not, they would not be used by historians or other humanists in growing numbers. Ultimately then, this project is both a process of learning digital methods and an attempt to discover new perspectives on my corpus of materials.
At each stage of the project, I documented my reasoning and process. These series of web pages, then, offer a glimpse into my process as a digital historian and the experienced I gained from this assignment.
